Onwards and upwards! Discount Supermarket Boxer recently celebrated the opening of its 350th store. Africa's Favourite Discount Supermarket brand Boxer Superstores recently celebrated the opening of its 350th store, just a few months after reaching the 300th store mark, showing that the much loved 'all under one roof' brand is continuing on its upward trajectory. Boxer, which originally traded as KwaZulu Cash & Carry in 1977, began its journey in Empangeni, KwaZuluNatal. Over forty three years later Boxer Superstores trades across nine provinces in South Africa and has several stores in the Kingdom of eSwatini "The past year has indeed been a challenge however, despite the many obstacles the country has faced, we have shown our resilience as a nation and as a supermarket group and this milestone is testament to that resilience.

We are proud to be in more towns and cities than ever before and want to thank you, our loyal shopper for supporting us through the years. We promise to continue our effort to ensure that you 'Never pay more than the Boxer price' in each of our 350 stores," said Boxer's Managing Executive Marek Masojada. The Discount Supermarket has already opened a number of stores in 2021 across South Africa and with Boxer Liquors Tswelopele in the Free State opening as store number 350, it was quite fitting, added Masojada. "The name Tswelopele in Sesotho means 'progress' and Boxer is striving every day to progress further into more towns and serve more communities across our incredible country," he said.
