South Africa's Favourite Discounter continues to empower women through skills development, employment opportunities and within the community. This Women's Month, Boxer is highlighting a few of the exceptional women who continue to empower, lead and grow Boxer and the communities in which Boxer stores serve. Here are what a few of the female leaders at Boxer said about Women's Month and women empowerment, particularly in retail.

Boxer Meat Factory Quality Assurance Manager Candice Cordon: Candice ensures Boxer's powerful and super busy Meat Factory continues to supply all stores across South Africa and eSwatini with delicious, safe and world class proteins for shoppers to enjoy. "Many of the team around me are single moms. I am proud to work at a business where I can uplift these and other women and enable them to work in an environment that is historically male oriented. Boxer is leading the way when it comes to giving women the opportunity to grow, showcase their talents and contribute to the community."

Boxer Group Executive: Stakeholder Engagement and Sustainability Ntombi Dludla: Ntombi serves as the leader of Boxer's newest Division, Stakeholder Engagement and Sustainability. Her role as a top leader at Boxer inspires many thousands of fellow team members as she navigates the challenging waters of CSR, transformation and empowerment. Ntombi has a passion for uplifting the youth of South Africa. "Boxer has always been the community champion, and my Department is able to add even more emphasis to the business model of uplifting the community. Women's Month is a time for all to reflect and if needs be, reset the course towards growing, empowering and uplifting women in society, particularly our young leaders, our future champions, in meaningful ways."

Nelspruit Regional Manager Joy Shangwe: Toy has worked at Boxer for 19 years in various fields, upskilling and developing her vast array of talents to better Boxer and the community. "Women's Month is important because it offers women and men the opportunity to remember, and reinforce the importance of equality in the work place, and in society in general. Working at Boxer, as a Regional Manager is quite demanding, however I am well supported and respected as a leader in my field. I think that I offer young women an opportunity to witness someone like them doing great things in retail, and for the community, and that inspires me to push further."
