Fifty young leaders from schools across South Africa and Eswatini recently participated in the 23rd annual Boxer Youth Leadership Programme (BYLP) in Zinkwazi, KwaZulu-Natal. This life-changing experience — fully sponsored by Boxer and supported by popular food brand Danone — was designed to equip the participants with leadership skills, confidence, and friendships that will last a lifetime.

A Transformational Experience

"This year was another standout edition of the BYLP," said Boxer Group Executive for Stakeholder Engagement and Sustainability, Ntombi Dludla. These incredible young leaders gave their all at every challenge and opportunity, and it was inspiring to witness their growth over the course of the week. They return home with sharpened skills, new lifelong friendships, and a deep understanding of their potential as future leaders." Boxer’s commitment to youth empowerment and leadership development remains unwavering. "We are excited to once again open entries for next year’s programme, giving 50 more students from across Southern Africa the chance to experience this incredible journey," added Dludla.

A Week of Learning and Adventure

The young leaders, chosen from every province in South Africa and from across Eswatini, arrived in KwaZulu-Natal and were fully equipped with BYLP including branded shirts, tracksuits, and pants. From the moment they stepped off the plane, their itinerary was packed with thrilling challenges, leadership workshops, and team-building activities. Outdoor Adventures including abseiling, ocean swims, and various physical challenges pushed the participants outside their comfort zones. For many, this was their first time flying or seeing the ocean! Leadership Skills Workshops – Interactive sessions helped the learners develop communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills—essential tools for any future leader. Guest Speaker Sessions – A lineup of inspiring experts and mentors from different fields shared their wisdom, encouraging the youth to dream big and take charge of their futures.

The 2025 BYLP concluded with a memorable graduation ceremony, where the young leaders showcased their talents in unique performances before enjoying a final awards and farewell dinner.
